At Marchandise, since 1 June 2019, we have been offering accredited training courses for operators of handling, earthmoving and MEWP equipment.
We offer various types of training, tailored to the machines used and the realities of the field. Focused on safety, performance and equipment familiarisation, our training courses enable your operators to quickly develop practical, recognised skills for optimal daily use of their machines.
Operator training

Upon successful completion:
- A training certificate is issued to the company (valid for 5 years)
- An operator badge is issued to the participant (valid for 5 years)
A refresh course is recommended during the final 6 months of validity in order to extend the certification for an additional 5 years.
IPAF Certification
Our company is recognised as an approved IPAF training centre, ensuring that the training we deliver promotes the safe and efficient use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).
This guarantees that your operators are trained by qualified instructors using equipment that complies with the latest safety standards. The IPAF MEWP certification is recognised in more than 80 countries worldwide.

What you need to know about our training
Do I need any prior experience or qualifications?
No, our training courses are open to everyone, even those with no prior experience. The content is delivered progressively, allowing each participant to learn and develop at their own pace.
Do I need any specific equipment?
Yes, participants are required to bring the following equipment: safety shoes, a hard hat, gloves, clothing suitable for weather conditions, a high-visibility vest or jacket, a safety harness, and an identity card.
Do I need a driving licence to attend the training courses and operate construction equipment?
No, it is not mandatory to hold a driving licence in order to attend the training courses.
Where do the training courses take place?
Training courses can be organised at our training centres in Engis, Genk or Montzen, or directly at your company's premises, subject to suitable facilities being available.
How long does a training course last?
The training takes place over one or two days, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The theoretical part is delivered in the morning and covers, among other topics, legislation, the Well-being at Work Code, and machine operation (course materials provided).
The practical part takes place in the afternoon and includes detailed explanations of the machines as well as practical exercises.
Do participants receive a certification upon completion of the training course?
Upon completion of the training, a certificate is issued to the company (valid for 5 years), and an operator badge is awarded to the participant (valid for 5 years).
Are the training courses subsidised?
Our training courses may be subsidised depending on the Joint Committee applicable to your company within the construction sector. We work in partnership with Constructiv and Embuild. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
What is your cancellation policy?
Any cancellation must be made in writing at least 5 working days before the start of the training course. After this deadline, cancellation fees may apply.
- More than 15 days before: no charge;
- Between 7 and 15 days before: up to 50% of the training cost;
- Less than 7 days before or in case of non-attendance: up to 100% of the training cost.
A rescheduling may be arranged free of charge up to 48 hours before the training course (subject to approval). A participant may be replaced at any time at no additional cost.
