Training objectives:
- Understand the responsibilities of both the employer and the operator;
- Understand and comply with operating rules and machine limitations according to the type of equipment;
- Carry out a machine inspection;
- Become familiar with the machine controls;
- Perform manoeuvres safely and efficiently.
Practical information
- Duration: one full day (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM), including lunch and refreshments
- Number of participants: 3 to 5 people
- Required equipments: safety shoes, hard hat, gloves, weather-appropriate clothing, and an ID card

IPAF MEWP Training
- Static Vertical (1a) - travel is only permitted when the work platform is in the stowed position, with vertical lifting movement.
- Static Boom (1b) - travel is only permitted when the work platform is in the stowed position, with multidirectional lifting movement.
- Mobile Vertical (3a) - travel with the work platform elevated may only be controlled from the platform controls, with vertical lifting movement.
- Mobile Boom (3b) - travel with the work platform elevated may only be controlled from the platform controls, with multidirectional lifting movement.
Upon successful completion:
- A training certificate is issued to the company (valid for 5 years)
- An operator badge is issued to the participant (valid for 5 years)
A refresh course is recommended during the final 6 months of validity in order to extend the certification for an additional 5 years.
